Revival Needs Reformation

Revival is wonderful, but if it doesn’t lead to reformation, the darkness and corruption in our culture, government and education system continues to have dominion. We are responsible for bringing the reform to our area.

Biblical Revival refers to a sovereign work of God in which He awakens and renews spiritual life among His people. It is fundamentally a heart-level movement: God pours out His Spirit, leading to widespread conviction of sin, deep repentance, restored joy in God, renewed obedience, and often an outpouring of evangelism and love for others. This often leads many to get plugged into a church. If the “revival” stays in the church box, (other than feeding the poor and evangelizing the lost) the revival has little affect on the culture, government and education system. No light is brought to these areas and they remain in the darkness, steeped in corruption.

Reformation helps change culture, government and education system by realigning beliefs, practices, institutions, and laws with the authority of Scripture rather than human traditions, power structures, or cultural drift. Reformation is more structural and outward-focused: it corrects ethics, and public life according to God’s revealed Word. When God’s truth takes root in people’s minds and consciences, it reshapes how they live, work, relate, and govern, creating ripple effects that transform societies. This produces more just, free, and morally grounded communities—not utopia, but a closer approximation of “Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” Christians today pursue this through faithful teaching, personal obedience, cultural engagement, becoming elected officials, sitting on school boards, sitting on township and city boards, and prayer for leaders to align with righteousness, holding them accountable.

Charlie Kirk is a perfect example of a reformer. “First, the Bible commands us to do it. Jeremiah 29:7: ‘Demand the welfare of the nation that you are in because your welfare is tied to your nation’s welfare.’ Daniel, Esther, Mordecai, Nehemiah, Jeremiah, and others were all counselors to secular government for God’s purpose. … Zechariah 8:16-17 [contain] direct orders: demand justice, demand love in my name.” -Charlie Kirk

Biblical government ideally reflects God’s character: justice, mercy, truth, and order (e.g., Deuteronomy’s instructions for kings and judges). Reformation applies this by measuring existing systems against Scripture and correcting where they fall short. Biblical government results from revival leading to reformation. Just before He left for heaven, Jesus gave two commissions to His followers. The first has to do with revival, getting people saved. The second is what the saved do; have dominion and bring forth “…Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.”

The First Commission: Salvation; Grow the Family
Mk 16:15-18 And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. 16 He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. 17 And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; 18 they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”

The Second Commission: Dominion; Authority to Govern
Mtt 28:18-20 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.
The second commission is Jesus giving us His authority to take back dominion, governing nations, teaching government, educators, and the culture the statutes of God. If we do not do this, it will not automatically happen!

The Genesis Connection
These two commissions must be understood in the light of Genesis 1, for they are actually recommissions of what took place then. Jesus came to restore – restart, rebirth, revive, redeem, recover, reform, refill, and recommission. Commission One in Genesis was: “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth” (Genesis 1:28). God told Adam and Eve, “Reproduce! I have placed in you the ability to multiply My image and likeness. And I want a big family!”
Then came Commission Two: “Rule over… all the earth…over every living thing that moves on the earth” (Genesis 1:26-28). Psalm 8:6 restates the mandate, “Thou doest make him to rule over the works of thy hands, Thou hast put all things under his feet.” These two losses are what Jesus came to restore: 1) God’s family, and 2) their lost governance and stewardship of the earth. Revival needs Reformation!

Revival is Happening!
Christian sources document at least 20–30+ distinct U.S. colleges with notable revival events or significant spiritual awakenings in the 2024–early 2026 period, with the influence touching far more through student networks.

The “Unite US” movement (a key organizer of campus outreaches) has held events on more than 20 college campuses (with some reports citing around two dozen by early 2026). It began gaining traction post-Asbury and has drawn crowds of 4,000–9,000+ at individual events, with hundreds to thousands responding in faith and many baptisms. Examples include Auburn University, Florida State, University of Georgia, University of Tennessee, University of Oklahoma, University of Kentucky, Purdue University, Ohio State, and University of Central Florida (UCF, where one 2026 event saw 5,000 students, 1,600 decisions for Christ, and hundreds baptized).

Iran is one of the fastest growing Christian populations. Revival is happening in other countries, all around the world. Iran is starving for reformation, to reform their government, culture and schools. America has given them hope, but they know they are in a battle and it won’t be easy. BUT with God all things are possible!

America is the freest nation on earth, but much of our freedom is an illusion and as we push for the truth, the battle will increase. We need revival to become reformation and that is up to us as the Body of Christ. Our responsibility is the Thumb Region, our part of God’s planet to take dominion! President Trump is rededicating America as “One Nation Under God” during our 250th year anniversary. He has written Executive orders and decrees: there are only two sexes, male and female. He stopped gender affirming care for minors, stopping Medicaid and Medicare for hospitals who will not follow the mandate. He is challenging Big Pharma about covering up the long-term side effects of sex transitioning drugs. The Department of Education is informing states and school districts if they suggest any student is trapped in the wrong body, they could face the elimination of federal funding. He is working hard to keep men out of women’s sports and locker rooms. He has acknowledged Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and that America is built on Judeo Christian Values and all Americans need a Bible in their home. He has stopped the promotion of the Woke agenda in our military and our government. He is bringing reformation! The Church brings revival, but we work with our President and other elected officials to bring reformation.

The Supreme Court of the United States: issued several rulings in favor of conservative values!
• The Court upheld Tennessee’s ban on puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones for minors with gender dysphoria (and similar laws in other states).
• In a 6-3 ruling, the Court sided with parents challenging a Maryland school district’s refusal to allow opt-outs from LGBTQ+-themed storybooks and instruction.
• The Court upheld Texas’s law requiring commercial websites with significant sexually explicit content (harmful to minors) to verify users are 18+.
• The Court curbed federal district courts’ ability to issue universal (nationwide) injunctions blocking executive actions beyond the specific plaintiffs.
• Unanimously, the Court ruled that Wisconsin violated the First Amendment by denying a Catholic social services organization a tax exemption available to religious entities.
